In March 2023, Novi Sad was the focal point of a significant event in the world of martial arts – a series of seminars and gatherings featuring Tendoryu Aikido, a Japanese martial art celebrated for its ethos of peace and harmony. The project, spearheaded by the respected Kenta Shimizu, son of the renowned Sensei Kenji Shimizu, aimed to promote Aikido as a tool for fostering understanding among people from diverse cultural backgrounds. This initiative was further expanded with another seminar in Berlin, led by Milan Velickovic, underlining the international scope of the project.
The seminar in Novi Sad, graced by Kenta Shimizu, stood out for its exceptional reception. It attracted a multitude of participants from various countries, including Slovenia, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and the Netherlands. This diverse attendance showcased Tendoryu Aikido’s universal appeal and its ability to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers, uniting people under the shared banner of martial arts. The success of the seminar was a clear indication that people from different cultures and backgrounds can communicate effectively and understand each other through Aikido.
